This past summer was packed with opportunity! We are thankful for what God allowed us to have part in these past several weeks.
Starting out July, we had the opportunity to help run VBS at our home church. It was a blessing to work with the children and people from our church. We did a Noah's theme, and even had an ark constructed! (It was small enough to fit on stage, but still impressive. Visit our YouTube channel or Instagram to see it!)
Following that week, we were in Troy Ohio, at Troy Baptist Temple preaching in their VBS in the morning, and Teen Storm (the youth program) at night. It was a joy to work alongside the people at Troy Baptist. Amongst those that came, there two young people who came to Teen Storm every night. As the Gospel was preached, they listened intently. During the invitation, the youth pastor asked if they wanted to here about how they could be saved. One of the boys replied, "I think we know what we need to do." The second night they listened just as aggressively, and when the invitation was given, they made eye contact with me when I asked if any needed to be saved. The third night I asked if any had been saved that week and wanted to share. They raised their hands and told me later that when they got home the previous night, they each prayed to receive Christ as Savior! Praise the Lord! Several children made decisions as well in the VBS.
We had another children's ministry opportunity in Crawfordsville, IN called Cowboy Camp. Calvary Baptist puts on an incredible day camp program for over 300 children. They went all out for those children that week. Preaching to that audience was such a wonderful experience. There were several testimonies shared by the staff as they dealt with the children. One of the sweetest prayers I heard from a worker is about a boy who prayed, "Lord, un-send me!" That was his way of saying "Be merciful to me, a sinner!" Simple child like faith is all it takes to be saved. Praise God for His work!
In August, I was able to preach the opening Spiritual Emphasis week at Suburban Christian School in Indianapolis. The atmosphere amongst the students was very gracious and open to God's will and working in their lives. Izzy enjoyed hanging out with her new friends (some of which she nicknamed "Pickle," and "Mrs. Red.") and joining them for classes as well. It was a special week.
This past summer I preached two revival meetings, one at Grace Baptist in Coatesville and Grace Baptist in Indianapolis. Both meetings were a joy to take part in. There was an open spirit, and decisions made those weeks. Pray that those decisions remain fresh in the hearts of those who made them. I'll share one story from Grace in Indy. The final night of the meeting a lady came, and the pastor told me on stage to pray for her. He said it would be an incredible victory if God would get a hold of her heart. Well, that night she got saved! She told me after that the passage I preached from was a passage that was discussed with a friend the previous week. That night she understood she first needed a relationship with Christ before she could start claiming His promises. It was an encouragement to me because I had planned to preach that message two days previous, but God wanted to use that message that evening to speak to her heart. Praise the Lord for His leading!
Throughout the summer we enjoyed preaching in a number of other dear churches as well: Solid Rock in Bellefountaine, OH; New Life in Franklin, IN; Good Hope in Clay City, IN; North Salem in North Salem, IN; and Open Door in Foley, AL. Each church was a special experience. In each place there were special people the Lord knit our hearts with. We're thankful for the faithful servants of our Lord Jesus Christ, and look forward to seeing our friends the next time we visit their ministry, and look forward to visiting yours! Pray for us as we travel through North Carolina preaching in several new ministries. We'll have over 20 preaching opportunities within a three week period while we're in the state. To keep up with us little more closely, follow us on our social media!Thank you for your prayers and support.
