Family brought us out west. Izzy's first birthday came (it's hard to believe is came so quickly)! She is growing up so fast. The grandparents were definitely due for a visit. We enjoyed several adventures while out there: Muir woods with its gorgeous trees was a testament to the awesomeness of our God, watching Izzy play at the Pixie Wood Park and Children's Museum filled our hearts with Joy, and visiting Sausalito and San Francisco was an enjoyment.
The first two weeks of our trip started with a little sickness in our family. Izzy was a little stuffy, Kate stayed strong, and I seemed to have picked up the rest. I guess that is why the Lord allowed a break from preaching for those first two weeks. The trip finished off however with a variety of opportunities such as: filling in for Sunday School classes at my mom's church, Central Valley in Manteca, preaching a Youth Revival for them as well, preaching at a mission, and the church I grew up in, Liberty Baptist in Manteca. Each opportunity was a blessing to us as we saw the Lord work in the services. The mission was exceptionally exciting to visit. The His Way Mission was started to help drug addicts and alcoholics overcome addictions. In that invitation, three souls came forward to trust Christ as their Saviour! What a blessing!
The way home was much faster than the way out; no delays (for that, we praise the Lord), and good weather. I sat beside a Korean who knew very little English. I shared what I could, and gave him a tract I wrote. Days like that makes me wish I knew a few more languages. I encouraged him to ask a friend to interpret the tract for him. If I could share his name I would, but it wasn't exactly a common name in America, much more difficult to understand or pronounce.
The last two weeks we enjoyed preaching in services at First Baptist Church in Tipton and Southeast Baptist Tabernacle in Indianapolis. Each ministry was a blessing to us. One of the things we enjoy most about evangelism, is the friendships the Lord allows us to establish with all the people we meet along the way. Fellowship with Pastors and their families is always a blessing, but also the people in the congregations.
Please pray for us now as September awaits with more opportunities. We look forward to a week long meeting at the end of the month with Redeemer Baptist Church in Indianapolis, and a Sunday service the week before that. Thank you for your prayers, and God bless.
